The “Festival de Fiesta Broadway” held in Los Angeles, California brings out more than 600,000 people to celebrate with music and food making it the largest in the world.

Two other big festivals are held far from Mexico, in Denver, Colorado, and St Paul, Minnesota, they draw hundreds of thousands of participants

THE FIRST CINCO DE MAYO

This holiday mainly started in the year 1967 when a group of California State University students decided to hold the first Cinco de Mayo commemoration in the United States.
They wanted something to recapture their history and decided that the Battle of Puebla was symbolic.
This helped them to connect it to their struggle for the formation of a Chicano Studies program at the university.
