How do I make my resume more effective? We could write you a novel full of recommendations, but in general, make sure it isn’t too wordy; emphasize longevity and upward mobility, such as promotions; and try to eliminate unexplained gaps.

What can I do to improve my interview? Speak confidently, be animated and answer the questions with examples so the hiring manager is clear about what you’re trying to communicate. Make sure you are well prepared with knowledge of the company, reiterate how interested you are in the position and remember to thank anyone involved afterwards. To make it more personal and memorable, try writing a short note instead of sending an email.

The big, bad world may feel intimidating after your absence, but just remember – if you can give birth, you can do anything!
