The Balancing Act

Your Key to Infertility

Are you one of the nearly 6 million couples having trouble getting or staying pregnant?

Are you one of the nearly 6 million couples having trouble getting or staying pregnant?

It’s not just a woman’s problem. Nearly half of all unexplained infertility cases are due to the male, and most of these are due to poor sperm QUALITY.

For a successful pregnancy, it is very important for the sperm to have normal, non-broken DNA Embryos formed with sperm.

Now there is an “at home” test available that is used for determining whether men of infertile couples have what’s called “broken sperm DNA” that is preventing a natural pregnancy.

  • The SCSA® test can determine if couple infertility is due to defects in sperm DNA
  • Early diagnosis of sperm DNA saves precious time and money to guide the couple to the best route for a successful pregnancy.

SCSA® Test, called the gold standard for sperm DNA fragmentation screening:

  • Is a test where the patient can: A) provide a semen sample at a clinic B) collect a sample at home with SCSA’s collection kit. In both cases, the sample is sent back to SCSA Diagnostics for their high tech testing.
  • A high tech laser/computer test that measures DNA damaged sperm that causes a lack of pregnancy

It is very important to note that even if all of the measurements of classical semen analysis, i.e., sperm count, motility and morphology, all fall into the normal range, a man may still have a high level of sperm DNA breakage that does not allow a normal pregnancy.

SCSA Diagnostics’ simple test is helping couples get one step closer to starting or expanding their families.

“The SCSA® remains the most robust test, and the one for which most clinical data are available.—it is the only test of sperm DNA/chromatin for which validated clinical interpretation criteria exist, and these are based on many thousands of tests and hundreds of clinical treatment cycles” (Bjorndahl L,et al; A Practical Guide to Basic
Laboratory Andrology. Cambridge University Press.2010)
