When was the last time you discussed current news events with your children? Are they interested in their community, their state or the world?
We want to raise well informed children who will grow up to be involved and aware citizens. eLearn Assignments is making it easier for our kids to learn about the world around them while improving their reading and comprehension skills.
eLearn Assignments is a web application that uses online news articles to improve students’ reading, writing and thinking skills. Articles from newspapers such as the New York Times and Washington Post are given to students to read. They are then provided with auto-graded multiple-choice questions that align with the Common Core State Standards, and send the results directly to the teacher’s grade book.
There are also assignments, essay questions, and projects that adhere to the standards.
What makes eLearn Assignments great?
• Meets Common Core State Standards
• Articles align to Curriculum Connection Index
• Automatic grading
• Low price per teacher
• Engages students using current world news
• Easy to use technology in the classroom
eLearn Assignments believes that if we teach students to read the news today, we increase the chances that they will read the news for the rest of their lives and become an informed adult. Teaching children how to read the news and form opinions about that news, creates a thoughtful, engaged citizen who can make a difference in the world.
