The Balancing Act

Choosing a Pre-School

What should you consider when searching for a pre-school for your child?

Did you know that 70% of brain development happens in the first three years of life? A child’s early learning experiences can set the stage for the rest of his or her life, so it’s important to choose the right preschool.

However, choosing a preschool can be a challenge for parents, especially with high costs and a wide variety of options. The key is making sure that the preschool will meet the child’s individual needs, like at KinderCare® Learning Centers.

What should parents look for?

o It’s important to look for an environment that’s designed for learning and will help develop the whole child – not just a safe place to play.

o Parents should consider what learning opportunities their child’s preschool is equipped to offer, and ask how the preschool can help their child develop socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively.

o Look for teachers and staff who listen to your family’s needs and have a passion for teaching and for supporting each child’s individual needs.

o Ask prospective preschools about the activities they have planned for your child’s age group, and how these activities will support your child’s development and learning.

KinderCare aligns age-specific learning goals with social, emotional, intellectual and physical development guideposts, focusing on six areas of development.

Then they mix in the fun. Art, music, games and friends are all a big part of the learning process. Their remarkable teachers encourage exploration and fun so that every child develops a lifelong love of learning.

Accreditation is a mark of excellence that helps you find the best possible learning experience for your child. In the next year, all 1400 KinderCare centers will be nationally accredited or taking part in the intensive, two-year process of achieving this distinction.
